The System

What is a Team?

The purpose of the Team is to support each Partner to be successful in bringing on board one new I CAN partner each month.

Each Team is made up of four I CAN Partners (Manager, Trainer, Senior Associate, Junior Associate) and exists for one calendar month.  Each Partner has a specifically defined role, which supports the success of their teammates.

A new Team is formed when a new Partner (Junior Associate) is registered and comes on board.   This new Team’s calls start in the first week of the following month and continue each week throughout the entire month.

The structure and function of the Team and the Team calls is the foundation of the I CAN system and is vital to creating predictable results at the end of 12 months.

Purpose of the Team

  1. SUPPORT assures that every partner on the team gets the training, guidance, encouragement and help needed for success. Every partner commits to both giving and receiving support.

  2. ACCOUNTABILITY is the 'key for success'. The weekly Team call allows each team member to report their actions and successes. The Team supports members to overcome challenges and develop weekly strategies. Each person is committed to being held and holding others accountable.

  3. SUCCESS - Every team member plays a role in being sure that all members of the team are successful in finding their partner each month. This is an important part of what makes the I CAN system so effective. Everyone participates when a 'Blitz' is needed to achieve monthly results.

Team Roles and Longevity

You will move through 4 roles on a given team during a 4-month period. At the beginning of a new month, the new partner (Junior Associate) is welcomed to the team, and the prior Manager retires. The remaining team members advance to a more senior position (Junior becomes Senior, Senior becomes Trainer, Trainer becomes Manager).  Over the 12-month period of the I CAN program each associate will serve on a total of 53 teams (cumulatively, ranging from 1 to 11 teams in a month).  Specific activities for each role are:

JUNIOR Associate: New I CAN partners are in this role from the time they are registered through their first full calendar I CAN month.

  • Communicates “My Life in 12 Months” vision with team members
  • Learns the system – creates and reviews I CAN Program Manual
  • Explores resources for inviting new partners
  • Completes Monthly Contact Manager - finds and registers 1st I CAN partner
  • Runs through the Training as found on the  Junior Associate Checklist and Training (FORM 10)

SENIOR ASSOCIATE:

  • Schedules 3-4 calls a week with their new Junior Associate to prepare and train them through their 1st full month.
  •  Participates in 3-way calls with Junior Associate to invite their partners.
  • See Senior Associate  Checklist (FORM 11)
NOTE: You will be the Senior Associate to your four Partners who are registered directly under you. When you place new partners under existing associates (months 4,5,7-12), you will be the Referring Senior Associate and will be responsible for all of these specific roles of the Senior Associate, but not serve on the Team call for such Junior Associate listed here. The sponsoring associate will serve as Senior Associate on the Team calls.

TRAINER:

    1. Collects team member’s accountability data weekly on Team Call Worksheet (Form 8) and makes available to team members prior to weekly team call
    2. Supervises and assists Senior Associate in training new Junior Associate
    3. See Trainer  Checklist (FORM 12)

    3.  Initiates “Blitz” on the Team call occurring closest to the 20th of the  month if anyone on the team  does not yet have their I CAN partner.
    4.  See Manager  Checklist (FORM 13)

All Team Members:  In addition to the specific roles listed for each team member, each and every partner will be responsible for the following monthly, weekly and on-going actions:

MONTHLY:

BEGINNING OF EACH MONTH:

  • Contact the 10 people on your Monthly Contact Manager (FORM 6), inviting them to join you as an I CAN Partner. Best results will be had if you set the goal to give at least 3 presentations each week during the entire year.
  • Continue to follow through with potential partners from previous months as well as new contacts. You should always have at least 10 people you are working on to become your new I CAN partners at any given time throughout the program.  Thus, you should take every opportunity to share.

End of each month:

  • Record each new Junior Associate and the related new Team Call on the appropriate Group Members Sheet.
  • Prepare a Team Call Worksheet (FORM 8) for each new Team Call and place behind the tab for next month’s activities.  Record the team number, the team members and the team call time and phone number.
  • List all Team calls on the I CAN Plan My Schedule (FORM 7) and file.
  • Make sure you have at least 10 names on your Monthly Contact Manager (FORM 6) for the next month, and place behind the tab for the next month’s activities.

.

NOTE: File Monthly Contact Manager, I CAN Plan My Schedule, and Team Call Worksheets behind next month's tab in "Team Call" section of manual.

WEEKLY:
