TEAMS

Perhaps the most important aspect of the entire "I Can" Program is the Team structure. Why? For 2 distinct reasons:

FIRST: The understanding that human behavior changes considerably when individuals stop acting on their own and are placed in community with each other. They work together on their chosen commitment to achieve specific results. Each individual is honored, respected and included in the process of accomplishing the desired result, applying their individual talents. The Team members experience total support and accountability, both of which cause the individuals to desire to learn, stretch beyond their comfort zones, and carry on in the face of rejection and adversity.

SECOND: Through the Team concept established in "I Can" whereby each Team adds a new member and retires a member each calendar month, retaining three of its original 4 members for continuity, the system becomes self-perpetuating. There is no reliance on any one individual for the entire organization to achieve results, but rather the system empowers people to perform. Month after month the geometric growth continues to occur due to this Team structure.

This structure and activity can be explained more fully by the following presentation:

Let's take a look at a TEAM:

Team Content:
As a new partner joins the "I Can" Program he is a member of a Team. A complete Team is made up of 4 individuals with unique roles:

Team Context:
It is imperative that the Team establish common values so each member operates from a beingness that contributes to the WIN-WIN atmosphere carried forward. The context of the Team is defined by four values:

  1. Humility: is the realization of the inherent equality of all human beings, irrespective of differences, achievements, stations in life, or any and all measures used to create distinctions.
  2. Love: is the realization of the interconnected oneness of humankind and ultimately all that exists.
  3. Compassion: is the unconditional acceptance of how others have chosen to create the circumstances of their lives and where appropriate, have them realize the potential they possess for change.
  4. Empathy: is the true caring and understanding of another's path as if it were our own; to be and see the world through their eyes.

Team Purpose:
The purpose of each and every Team is to accomplish one thing...to make sure each of the individual Team members registers their new "I Can" partner for that given month. Every member supports the other members in achieving this result. It is their single focus for each calendar month.
